About CUATS

Cleveland Urban Area Transit System (CUATS) is operated by the Southeast Tennessee Human Resource Agency (SETHRA). 

CUATS operates Monday through Friday. 
Office Hours: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Bus Hours: 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. (Temporary change of hours)

Buses do not operate on Saturdays or Sundays, New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.

All buses leave the transit center and travel to the outer reaches of the city. 

Daily transfers at the Transit Center

Every hour on the hour, the Red, Blue, Green, Gold, and Orange route buses arrive together at the "Old Railroad Depot" on 165 Edwards St. This enables passengers to transfer from one bus route to another. 

Daily transfers in Northern Cleveland

Every half-hour, the Green, Orange, and Gold route buses arrive together at the Bradley Square Mall. This enables passengers to transfer from one bus route to another. 

Daily transfers in Southern Cleveland

Every half-hour, the Red and Blue route buses arrive together at the Wal-Mart on Treasure Drive. This enables passengers to transfer from one bus route to another.

General Guidelines for Riding CUATS Buses

  • For everyone’s comfort, no smoking, eating or drinking is allowed.

  • Audio equipment may be used with headphones.

  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Pets are not allowed, except service animals.

  • Please observe all posted rules.

Demand Response Service

All buses are wheelchair accessible, with wheelchair lifts and wheelchair tie down locations. Each bus can accommodate two wheelchairs at a time. Passengers may ask the driver to announce their specific stop.

Lost and Found

CUATS maintains a special lost and found service for the convenience of its patrons. If you lose an article or personal belonging on any CUATS bus, call 423.478.1396 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. All articles are kept 30 days and must be identified and claimed only at the Cleveland Urban Area Transit Center, 165 Edwards St., Cleveland, Tennessee 37311.
