Paratransit Rider Policy

·        Drivers may arrive at your home for pickup one hour prior to your appointment. The driver will  blow their horn and wait five minutes for you to come out. After the five minutes expires, the  driver will mark you as a no show. The driver cannot come back and get you that day and your home trip will be cancelled.

·        Have fare ready as you board the bus.

·        Have correct change as drivers cannot make change.

·        Passengers must go to the destination that is scheduled. No unscheduled stops will be made.

·        Please be seated as soon as possible after boarding the bus.

·        Do not eat, drink, use tobacco, or vape while on the bus.

·        Do not cross in front of the bus after exiting.

·        Shirt and shoes are required to ride the bus.

·        No flammables or hazardous materials of any kind.                                                                                     

·        Transit tickets or discounts cannot be used on the paratransit

·        Passengers must limit carry-on items to what they can manage to carry on in one trip. Items must be kept in your lap or between your feet and within your control. Items may not occupy the aisle way or another seat. Driver cannot load and unload items for you.

·        Keep cell phone use to a minimum and speak quietly when doing so.           

·        Pets are not allowed.

·        Threats, bullying, yelling, profane language, or use of racial slurs will not be tolerated.

·        No weapons of any kind are permitted on the bus.

·        Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before removing your seatbelt or getting out of your seat.

·        Please do not talk to the driver while the bus is in motion.

·        Front seats are reserved for people with disabilities.

·        Excessive loud talking or other noises are not permitted.

·        Drivers are not responsible for items left on the bus.

·        For your safety, all passengers must wear a seatbelt.

·        Any passenger using a mobility device must keep their mobility device clean.

·        Passengers using an electric mobility device must be able to operate their mobility device or   have an escort with them to operate the mobility device. Drivers are not allowed to operate your mobility device for you unless it is a manual wheelchair. The drivers can only leave their bus long enough to push a passenger in a manual wheelchair across the threshold of a office, business, or dwelling as long as the driver’s bus remains within their sight.

Lost and Found

CUATS maintains a special lost and found service for the convenience of its patrons. If you lose an article or personal belonging on any CUATS bus, call 423.478.1396 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. All articles are kept 30 days and must be identified and claimed only at the Cleveland Urban Area Transit Center, 165 Edwards St., Cleveland, Tennessee 37311.
